As a Catholic school, social justice activities are a key part of sharing with students our Catholic values. The experiences provided link our students to the local and broader community.
Involvement in sport is an important facet of the curriculum at St Monica's. All students participate in inter-house and interschool sporting competitions. St Monica's has earned a proud reputation for its sporting achievements over the years, with many sporting trophies currently being held by the school.
Participation and enjoyment are considered to be important values during sporting activities conducted at St Monica's. We look to foster a healthy attitude to sport and participation. School sport includes swimming, netball, athletics, rugby league and soccer. A physical education specialist is currently on staff at St Monica's.
Sports houses
St Monica’s has three sporting houses named to commemorate the close links the Oakey community has with the Defence Forces of our nation. They represent Australian servicemen and women sacrifice in the three main areas of the world in which Australia has lost many brave men and women – Europe, Middle East and Asia.
